Sometimes oral sedation in Clarington can be combined with nitrous oxide to enhance the effect. You will need someone with you to take you home after receiving oral sedation, as you cannot drive yourself.
IV Sedation
Intravenous or IV sedation is administered through a vein in the crook of your arm or the back of your hand. We bring in a certified anesthesiologist to administer this treatment and continuously monitor you during the procedure. IV sedation tends to contain an amnesiac, so afterwards you will remember little or nothing about your treatment.
IV sedation is ideal if you need lengthier treatment or require a complex procedure. It may mean that we can complete more treatment during a single appointment. Just like oral sedation, you will need someone with you to take you home. Ideally, they will need to stay with you for a while afterwards to ensure you are fully recovered. You shouldn’t make any important decisions, sign any documents, or operate any machinery or a vehicle for 24 hours afterwards.
